The evangelist Finlay Munro ministered in North Uist during the time of the revival that went across Lewis and Harris. Crowds of people gathered from time to time to hear him and 'the Holy Spirit accompanied the Word preached with saving efficacy.' 'A religious revival followed which completely altered the outlook of many people who hitherto had been indifferent to the Gospel and as in Antioch of old, "the grace of God was seen".
