Gosen Calvinistic Methodist Chapel - Cefn Gorwydd (1790)

I think it was in about 1789 or the following year ... On the last day of the Association, I remember that Dafydd Morris, the father of Ebenezer Morris, preached very well, and with remarkable unction, on the 24th verse of the Epistle of Jude ... It broke out wonderfully under that sermon, and Dafydd Morris went from there through Brecknockshire, and his ministry was attended with such power and unction that a strong and powerful revival broke out around Llanwrtyd and Cefn Gorwydd and other districts throughout the county at that time.’

1828. Hearing that revival had broken out at Cilycwm, Evan Evans, Ffos, one of the elders of the Calvinistic Methodist cause at Cefn Gorwydd, urged some of the members to go to Cilycwm the following Sunday, hoping to bring the revival back with them. A large group went, but only one seemed affected in the meeting. The following Friday night, when a preacher from Carmarthenshire was delivering his message, many who had been irreligious up until then were greatly affected and became concerned about their spiritual state. The next Sunday, as the verse of a hymn was sung, the congregation broke out praising and rejoicing, so that the preacher did not even have opportunity to read out his text.
