There was revival among the Calvinistic Methodists in Cardiganshire over a large geographical area in 1812. Ebenezer Richards gives an account of it in his ‘Family Register’:
March 1st. This being a LORD’s day we had Mr E. Harris of Pembrokeshire to Preach with us at two and at six but after prayer before the Evening Sermon before he named his Text a wonderful revival began which has since advanced in its glorious career – it began about the beginning of January at Lledrod – after that it broke out at Swythffynon and Bontrhydfendigaid – and on the above day poor Tregaron began to see the glorious dawn – it has since appeared at Llandewi-brefi &c.
