Brynteg (1807)

1807 Ysgoldy, Caernarfonshire. ‘William Hughes gives a remarkable account of a revival among the children in 1807. In Brynteg, the home of Rowland Abram, the revival broke out among them, and the children began rejoicing, and that without seeing others doing it. The same thing happened again.’ The two who cared for this seiat were Rowland Dafydd and Rowland Abram. As Ar Galfaria rhwng y lladron was sung the children broke out rejoicing again, and Rowland Abram shouted out, ‘Blessed be unto him.’ This revival put an end to the playing of what was called twmpath y llys. The old woman who lived near Brynteg was greatly amazed that none of her apples was stolen at that time, as they used to be when the effect of the revival on the children was the cause.’ [HMA iv. 198]
