Hereford - Salvation Army (1992)

Sinners have been coming to the Saviour all the week, both in the Hall and at their homes after they have left the meetings.

A young man came to a meeting on purpose to blackguard us - so he told us with tears in his eyes as he sat on the platform afterwards – but the Spirit of God took hold of him and showed him what a sinner he was and then he surrendered his all to God. Several young women have testified that they came to make game of us but they found out their mistake and so they stopped and asked God to save them.

On Sunday at the Knee-drill we had 100 to a free breakfast. Our Barracks crammed afternoon and night with over 2,000 people. The people were stricken down with conviction and 20 left the ranks of the devil and joined our glad and happy band, making 50 for the week.

From, 'The War Cry', May 1882.

This is just one example of what was happening here. More reports can be seen from the War Cry in future months/years.

Additional Information

I do not know where the meetings were held.
