Point is the Eye Peninsula and includes the towns of Aignish, Aird, Bayble, Garrabost, and Knock.
The area is quite small, and if one town had revival it would have been difficult for the others not to have been infected with it because people from the more distant towns would have attended the churches where revival was taking place.
There may have been a revival here in1860; there was revival in 1886-8, 1921, 1935-9, and 1949-52. I am not sure if the 1935-9 was one revival or two (1935-6/1938-9). All the revivals were experienced generally throughout the island.
Duncan Campbell preached in Point for two weeks in November 1950 and described scenes of revival.
For more information see, ‘Glory in the Glen,’ by Tom Lennie, and ‘Sounds from Heaven, by Colin and Mary Peckham (for details of the 1949-52 revival), both published by Christian Focus Publications. p55.
