Mercaston - Primitive Methodists (1816)

One meeting, conducted according to this plan, was held at Mercaston, in Derbyshire, on Sunday, June 9th, 1816. "It was a very powerful meeting," says Mr Bourne; “the praying services were wonderfully supported,' and "the work of God broke out with power."

The good effects of this meeting appear to have been great; a considerable quickening took place in the societies in that neighbourhood, and camp-meetings generally were apparently restored to their original power.
